Creating and managing teams

Teams control which candidates each user can see. Each candidate is assigned to a team, and users can only view the candidates and their checks within the teams they belong to. A user can belong to multiple teams.

When a candidate is created in Checkmate, they are assigned to the creating user's team. If the user belongs to more than one team, they can select which team to assign the candidate to — otherwise the candidate is assigned to their first team by default. A candidate can be re-assigned to a different team from the candidate profile.

Companies use teams in different ways — some mirror their internal structure with departments or regional offices, while others group by role type such as hiring managers.

For controlling what users can do — including which areas of Checkmate they can access and which actions they can take — see Roles.
