Managing your security settings

This article walks you through how to update your password and set up two-factor authentication.

  1. While signed in to your Checkmate account, click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Click View Account.

  3. Click the Security tab to manage your password and two-factor authentication.

Changing your password

  1. To change your password, enter your current password first.

  2. Enter your new password. The strength indicator shows how secure it is — your password must reach a sufficient strength level before it can be saved.

  3. Confirm your new password to make sure it matches.

  4. Click the Update Password button to save your new password.

Setting up two-factor authentication

  1. Select Two-Factor Authentication to add an extra layer of security to your account.

  2. Download and install an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator on your mobile device.

  3. Scan the QR code displayed on screen with your authenticator app.

  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to complete setup.

  5. Once you've completed setup, your Security page will show an Enabled status.

  6. From now on, when you log in, enter your email and password as usual and click Log In.

  7. You will then be asked for your verification code. Open your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code to complete login.
