In this article, we'll walk you through how to brand your PDF reports — how to upload a banner, set your colours, and preview how the finished report will look. This option is currently only available when your organisation has Reference Check Plus or Candidate Questionnaire checks enabled.
While signed in to your Checkmate account, click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click Company Settings.
Click the Branding tab.
Click on the three-dot menu and choose Edit to open the brand editor.
Click PDF Reports to apply your organisation's branding to your reports.
Report settings are on the left.
The live preview on the right updates as you make changes, so you can see exactly how your branded report will look.
Upload or drag in a banner image, which will appear at the top of your PDF reports.
Use the crop tool to adjust your banner, then click Apply crop to confirm.
If AI Reference Summaries are enabled for your account, you will see this option. Toggle it on to enable AI Reference Summaries for the brand.
When enabled, an AI-generated overview will be added to your Reference Check Plus reports, highlighting key strengths and any areas of concern.
Use the PDF Report Banner colour pickers to set the report banner background and text colours.
Use the live preview to check your changes as you go.
As you choose your colours, keep an eye on the contrast indicator — it measures the contrast between your text and background against accessibility standards.
