Tags let you label and organise candidates. This article covers how to create and manage tags.
You can learn how to apply tags to candidates and use tags to filter your Dashboard here.
Viewing tags
While signed in to your Checkmate account, click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click Company Settings.
Click the Tags tab.
This is where all tags used by your company are listed. Each tag displays its name.
It can also include an optional description.
Each tag displays two usage counts: Active, showing the number of active candidates, and Archived, showing the number of archived candidates.
Creating a tag
Click Create Tag.
A new row appears at the top of the list with a default colour already applied. Enter a name, then press Enter to move directly to the description field.
Click the colour dot next to the name to change a tag's colour.
Select a new colour from the palette.
Click a tag's name or description to edit it.
Searching and filtering tags
Use the search box to find a specific tag or create a new one.
Select one or more tags from the dropdown to filter the tags list.
If your search doesn't match an existing tag, you can create a new one directly from the search box.
Merging tags
Select one or more tags to merge.
A bulk action bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
Click the Merge Tags icon to merge the selected tags.
Choose the tag you want to keep. All candidates assigned to the other tag are reassigned to it, and the other tag is deleted.
Click Merge Tags to confirm the merge.
You'll see a notification confirming the tags have successfully merged.
Deleting tags
You cannot delete a tag that has active or archived candidates assigned. If you try to delete the tag, Checkmate blocks the action and tells you exactly how many active and archived candidates are affected. Remove the tag from those candidates first, or merge it into another tag instead.
